FAQ

How much does it cost to install a window?

This depends on things like the material, type, style, and number of windows you choose, but, on average, the price of window installation varies from £500 to £3,200 per window.

Are windows fitted from inside or outside?

Windows can be fitted from either side, so it just depends on your preferences.

It is much more common to have windows fitted from the outside of your home because it reduces the likelihood of damage to the inside, such as minor surface damage to the plaster or décor.

However, if you would prefer your new windows to be fitted from the inside, then just let us know and we will accommodate your preferences.

Can you install windows without replacing the frame?

This depends on the age and condition of your existing window frames.

Replacing the glass only helps to improve your window if the frame itself is good. If your existing frames are rotting, cracked, or in generally bad condition, then replacing the glass won’t help.

This is because even the most hard-wearing window materials degrade and break down over time, leading to loss of energy efficiency and condensation problems. Full-frame replacement windows (where the entire window frame and the glass are replaced) can help to improve your home’s insulation and prevent any unwanted air leakage from your window frame.

On the other hand, if your home’s window frames are relatively new and in great condition, you can choose to have a pocket frame window replacement, or insert windows. This lets you insert the new window into the existing frame, so you can upgrade the glass or double glazing technology without having to replace perfectly good window frames.

Should I replace all my windows at once?

Again, this depends on the condition of your windows. Replacing one window that’s worn, inefficient, or broken is fine.

However, lots of wear and tear on one window can be a sign that your other windows are damaged or need replacing, especially if your windows are of similar age. Wear and tear can be influenced by installation, usage, maintenance, and exposure to the elements.

If your windows are getting worn, it might save you time, hassle, and money to replace all of them at the same time.
