Revitalise the look of your Teignbridge home with stylish aluminium and uPVC windows

If you’re looking to do some home improvement without spending too much or dealing with building regulations, updating your windows is a fantastic solution.

New thermal technology and double glazing can help you achieve lower energy costs and increase security, whilst stylish and modern frame finishes can totally change the look of your house.

Here at ADS Windows & Doors, we have a wide range of window frames, styles, colour options, and finishes that can be customised to suit any home, whether you want a contemporary or traditional finish.

Two of our most popular styles of windows in the Teignbridge area are uPVC and aluminium windows both of which give a different and unique finish to reflect the uniqueness of your home.

Aluminium windows are popular amongst homes across Teignbridge and the South West that are looking for a contemporary and stylish finish. Like our other window styles, they contain polyamide thermal barriers which increase their heat efficiency, and the aluminium material ensures that they are light and durable.

uPVC windows are a popular choice for those who want a more traditional and low-maintenance finish. uPVC is cost-effective whilst also providing fantastic insulation and high security. The material is low-maintenance as it doesn’t need repainting and is resistant to rot and rust.

We pride ourselves in supplying a wide range of high-quality products that suit a variety of houses and tastes. Our range of ‘A’ Energy rated uPVC and architectural aluminium framed windows and doors include casement windows, flush sash windows, vertical sliding sash windows, pivot and bi-folding windows, top/side-hung windows, tilt and turn windows, French doors, bi-folding doors, and heavy-duty windows.

All our windows have high-security glazing, dual colour options, and excellent weather performance certified by BS6375 Parts 1 & 2. They are also all compliant with BS7950.

We have been supplying windows, doors, and conservatories to happy customers in Teignbridge and across the South West for over 10 years. This means we have a wealth of experience in helping people improve the look, feel, and performance of their home.

How much does it cost to install a window?

Are windows fitted from inside or outside?

They can be fitted from either the inside or the outside, it just depends on your preference.

Outside: Much more common. Reduces the likelihood of damage to the inside of your home, such as minor damage to décor or plasterwork.

Inside: This can be a good option if you have other exterior building work going on, such as landscaping or scaffolding. Windows can be hung at the same time without any disruption.

Can you install windows without replacing the frame?

Yes, you can, but this depends on the age and condition of your existing window frames.

  • Rotting, cracked, old, or poor condition: You’re far better off just replacing the whole unit instead of only replacing the glass. Even the most hard-wearing window materials degrade and break down over time, making them lose their energy efficiency, become drafty, and prone to condensation. Full-frame replacement windows will immediately make your windows more attractive and more efficient and prevent any unwanted air leakage from your window frame.
  • Relatively new and good condition: You can choose to have a pocket frame window replacement, or insert windows. A pocket frame window replacement lets you put the new window into the existing frame, so you can upgrade the glass or double glazing technology without having to replace perfectly good window frames.

Should I replace all my windows at once?

This also depends on what condition your windows are in. If you’ve only noticed one window being worn, inefficient, or broken, you could just replace that one.

But severe wear and tear on one window can be a sign that your other windows are damaged and need replacing, especially if your windows are of similar age. Wear depends on many factors including installation, usage, maintenance, and exposure to the elements, but windows of a similar age often need replacing at around the same time.

If you notice that your windows are old and becoming worn, it might be easier in the long run to simply replace all of them at once, as this will probably save you time, hassle, and money.

If you’re unsure about whether to replace your windows, our team of experts can help you assess your windows and decide whether to replace a single window or all windows of the same type.
