Tilt & turn windows are given their name because of the way they are operated; tilt them inwards and ventilate your home without providing a route to the outside. Or, open them inwards to clean the windows comfortably whilst also allowing for a fire escape route. Low maintenance windows that come with the latest thermally efficient glazing, we offer uPVC and aluminium tilt & turn windows, both of which are an excellent choice for your Devon or East Cornwall home. Either option is available double and triple glazing too.
This opening-in style of window is very much a European design. Ideal for high-rise as well as low-rise applications, the tilt and turn window offers greater scope for larger opening lights than a traditional casement window.
Most windows are supplied as ’tilt before turn’ to make them safer and avoid the risk of children opening them fully in the first instance.
With many practical benefits, tilt and turn windows are available with as many options as our popular casement window.

FAQs
In order for tilt & turn windows to operate as they should, they require more robust internal hardware than standard casement windows, although both window types are locked at multiple points. Forcing them open from the outside is made even more difficult because of their in-swing hinges.
Yes, you could. However, it’s important to bear in mind that they open inwards so make sure that they will not be encroaching on your floor space. If they will be, we recommend you opt for casement windows instead.
Yes, we do. Our showroom is located in Ivybridge and whilst here you can check out a selection of windows along with a variety of other home-improvement products.
The job will usually take between 3 and 6 weeks to complete. However, the time taken will depend on the size of the job and the type of installation.
If opting for our uPVC tilt & turn windows, you can expect a 6 chambered profile that traps huge quantities of heat in the home. Also available with RCM inserts, you can boost thermal performance even further if desired. However, the outstanding polyamide thermal breaks that are used within our aluminium variants help them to retain huge quantities of heat, helping improve the energy efficiency of your home.
By preventing heat from escaping, our tilt & turn windows ensure your home will always feel comfortable to reside in. Plus, there’s a good chance of them knocking down your energy bill too.

They also provide a continuous seal from the weather thanks to the double-action bubble gasket that our uPVC versions are equipped with, and the high-performance weather stripping on our aluminium versions.
